Award-winning regional premiere. Concept was heightened reality, set in the French Revolution with a female punk-rock twist. The highly-successful (and later remounted) production featured a fierce ensemble of physical comediennes who propelled the story with grit and finesse. High stakes comedy mirrored poignant dramatic moments, with an emphasis on physical storytelling, including mask. Memorable design features include the wall stamped with a damask uterus pattern, immersive pre-show experience including female-led rock songs and a memorable lobby experience.
