Ashley has a passion for movement and the physical form. She has been hired at many area theaters and schools to advise and teach workshops on how emotions affect a character’s physicality and how to draw truth in a performance through the human body as well as how our connection to our breath affects our emotions.
From characters driven to seizures, nursing a broken hip, to blind, to those with bravado and machismo to spare, Ashley has coached performances and helped actors and workshop students to make breakthroughs on their characterization techniques.
Ashley has taught numerous workshops on Stage Combat to groups of all ages and loves spreading the joy of stage combat to the masses. In 2012, she founded SCDallas, DFW’s only open resource for safe and reliable stage combat and movement instruction. SCDallas is now widely known and regularly holds workshops, including the very successful LoneStar Smash – a regional Cirque and Stage Combat Workshop that hosts instructors from all over the country.
